Linda has spent much of her career advocating for disadvantaged and at-risk individuals. Her advocacy began with counseling dependent and neglected teenaged girls in a group home setting. She assisted the court adjudicated youth with increasing self-esteem and developing life management skills. Linda also counseled high school dropouts enrolled in Rev. Leon Sullivan’s world renowned Opportunities Industrialization Centers (OIC). Linda was selected for leadership in both the GED and Youth Education and Training (YETP) programs, in which she was instrumental in achieving record success rates for the goals of students attaining their diplomas or being placed for employment, respectively.
After completing her graduate studies Linda counseled teens through the ARC (A Resource Center for Youth) Program sponsored by the Children’s Bureau of Delaware. As a member of the ARC team Linda designed and implemented workshops for junior and senior high school students regarding sexuality issues and teen pregnancy prevention. Linda also provided services to local communities through the Delaware County Juvenile Justice Program in Pennsylvania. She trained community members willing to serve on adjudicatory panels and supervised the hearings and deliberation processes.
Linda is admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and to that of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania where she served on the Law School Admissions Subcommittee and the Public Interest Law Conference Planning Committee. Linda was selected by the Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham for an internship position at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She also holds a Master of Social Services degree in Social Policy and Program Development from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.
